Trauma and PTSD

Trauma is any experience that was overwhelming or threatening that caused you pain or fear to the point that you felt helpless and hopeless.

Losing someone very close to, you emotional assault, physical assault, abandonment when you were a child being bullied; and the list goes on. Natural disasters such as earthquakes, fires, war, any accident that causes physical harm also cause trauma.

When these events occur our energy system gets frozen in the body at the cellular level which then causes pain (negative energy like depression, fear, numbness, detachment, not able to form any healthy relationships. These negative blockages affect all areas of our lives without us realising it. The nervous system is affected (sympathetic and parasympathetic systems in our body kick in when we suffer emotional stress which causes us pain, this repeats itself over our lifetime. I am able to navigate you through the healing journey.

Sometimes it’s being forced upon us, like a job loss or a partner leaving and involves emotional turmoil. Sometimes it creeps up on us, like the change from one stage of life to the next and we realise we are not making the adjustment very effectively.

Whatever is bringing you to change I can help you through all the stages of getting to where you want to be. I have a lot of experience helping people to manage the emotions change brings, as well as defining their goals and working out the steps they need to take to get there. When you need encouragement and support to keep going or take the next step, I’ll be right there with you. And if you trip up I’ll help you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and teach you the motivation skills to move forward again.
